Take for instance a story of a girl named Kaye. She always had pretty locks. When she went to college and worked part-time in a restaurant, she noticed that her hair is getting thinner. She had to juggle between school demands and that of her work. Alongside, she has other commitments to think about. When she started working in a company, she was tasked to do a lot of things. The same trend happened. She noticed that there was so much hair down the drain especially when she washes her hair. A lot of strands are also left in her brush. When she took a vacation and forgot about work, she noticed that there was not so much hair loss anymore.

Stress then is the trigger of her hair loss. One could say that it is very irrelevant for such a theory to exist. There seems to be no relationship at all. But stress is a culprit that is everywhere and most people who are keen enough to observing their stress levels would also notice that more of their hair strands are falling off.


The Oxford dictionary's definition of stress is: "a demand upon physical or mental energy". Most people see stress as an above average demand for energy though. Most of the time, this demand is very hard to deal with so they end up looking haggard and tired. Stress demands people to perform well above their capacity. Being very difficult to maintain, there is no form of relief that would be experienced. Most people see stress as an everyday occurrence. Now, stress and hair loss could be considered twins because hair falls off when the body demands performing beyond its capacity. The body has ways of altering itself that there is a problem such as stress. When the problem is handled properly, stress can be managed and there would not be any health problems that would occur.

When the person's hair would be affected though, it is a manifestation that the stress level is soaring high and has affected the person so much. Having peace and happiness are among the ways that will keep a person in perfect shape- something reflected in the body through healthy-looking and shiny hair. Ones with dry, lifeless and thin hair may be suffering from depression and are struggling to adapt to the matter at hand. Stress and hair loss, in this manner are becoming a double threat.
